Mold removal by baking soda blasting is similar to dry ice blasting for mold except for two issues – sodablasting is cheaper and faster than dry ice; soda blasting generates a fair amount of dust and debris. We also offer custom washing services.

Soda blasting is just one tool in a mold removal strategy. If large areas are contaminated such as a grow op, mold remediation should follow a protocol specified by an independent third party who has expertise in defining the scope of work and experience in mold in buildings, ie. professionals such as an industrial hygenist. We have worked for numerous companies that specialize in mold remediation, generally the buildings are tested prior to our work and are part of a comprehensive strategy including removing all the drywall, insulation and vapor barrier and spraying the structural components of the building with a chemical cleaner/disinfectant prior to our services.

Please note that soda blasting of mold is not advisable for small areas or areas with limited accessibility(dust containment, cost) or for houses that are occupied (dust, noise, containment issues). We may not be the best alternative (areas such as an attic or partial basement that has mold and needs containment) but we have many resources and will be happy to refer you to one of our associates or clients that specializes in your requirements.

While the soda blasting removes the visible signs of mold from the surfaces, it is still necessary to follow your industrial hygenist’s or mold professional’s recommendations. After blasting and cleanup of the blast debris the building structure should pass air quality testing parameters.
